                             Former Miss India Universe, Lara Dutta turns 35 years today. Born to Wing Commander L.K. Dutta (retired) and an Anglo-Indian mother Jennifer, Lara has two sisters, Sabrina, who serves in the Indian Air Force and younger sister Cheryl.

               Her family moved to Bangalore in 1981 where she completed high school from St.Francis Xavier Girls' High School and Frank Anthony Public School. Lara Dutta graduated in economics with a minor in communications from the University of Mumbai. She was crowned Femina Miss India Universe in 2000.

     





                     In September 2010, Lara Dutta announced her engagement with Tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi.


                   Lara and Mahesh tied the knot on February 16 at a civil ceremony in Bandra and later followed it by a Christian ceremony on 20 February 2011 in Goa.

              




            On August 1, 2011, Lara Dutta confirmed that she is pregnant with their first child.

On 20 January 2012 Mahesh Bhupathi confirmed the birth of their daughter Saira on Twitter.

                   Lara Dutta made her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Andaaz that won her Filmfare's Best Female Debut Award. With films like No Entry, Partner, Housefull she has enjoyed a fairly successful stint in the film industry.
